Bad Links? | Hwy. 54 work to start soonBy JOHN MUNFORD Night owls going between Peachtree City and Fayetteville should take heed of the work due to begin on Ga. Highway 54 between the two cities that is due to begin almost immediately. Warning signs are up to alert motorists that the resurfacing project will run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., during which some lane closures will occur. The work will span the entire 14.19-mile section of Hwy. 54 from Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City to the bridge over Camp Creek and the Flint River on the Fayette/Clayton county line, officials said. APAC-Southeast, which won the $3.85 million contract, will also reconstruct the shoulder during the project, officials said. Work crews will also be rebuilding portions of the road shoulder. |
