Golf cart spill kills Tyrone woman

Peachtree City has recorded what is likely its first-ever golf cart related fatality on the path system.

A Tyrone woman suffered a serious head injury when she fell off a cart while it was making a turn Thursday afternoon, police said. Debra Oberholt, 36, was flown to Atlanta Medical Center where she died as a result of her injuries, police said.

Oberholt was a passenger on the golf cart, which was being driven by Luis Sanchez-Montanez of Peachtree City.

The accident occurred near the golf cart path bridge over Ga. Highway 54 near Willowbend Road, police said. Police are conducting a comprehensive reconstruction of the accident.
