Tripp and Karen Brown of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie Brown, to Marc Alan Shealy, son of Paul and Vicki Shealy of Warner Robins.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Tripp and Margaret Brown of Fayetteville and the late Bruce and Catherine Reed of Fayetteville. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from LaGrange College where she was a SIMS scholarship recipient. She was inducted into LaGrange Colleges nursing honor society of Sigma Theta Tau and also is a sister in Kappa Delta Sorority. She currently works in the operating room at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery, Ala.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Frank Valasky and the late Margie Valasky of Warner Robins, and the late Don and Margaret Weimer of Macon. He received a bachelor of science degree in education from Auburn University in Montgomery, Ala. He was named to Whos Who in American Colleges and Universities and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi honorary society for educators at AUM where he also received his masters degree in physical education and coaching. He currently works as assistant coach for the varsity baseball team at AUM.
The wedding will be Sept. 17, 2005, at 6 p.m. at Glendalough Manor in Tyrone. Pastor Grant Cole will conduct the ceremony. After a honeymoon in Washington, D.C., the couple will live in Montgomery, Ala.
Jones-Goen
Fred N. Jones and Ms. Lana A. Jones of Peachtree City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ansley Gayle Jones, to Cary Dustin Goen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Goen of Griffin.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jack and Gaye Adams Sr. of Griffin and Claude and Ruby Jones of Peachtree City. She received a bachelor of science degree in family and consumer science from the University of Georgia and recently completed a bachelor of science degree in nursing from LaGrange College. She will begin her nursing career at LaGrange Hospital in the fall.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Daisey Goen and the late Gene Goen and the late Janie and John Wallace of Griffin. He received a bachelor of science degree in environmental horticulture from Abraham Baldwin and is employed in sales with Skinner Nurseries of Peachtree City.
The wedding will be Sept. 10, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of Griffin. A reception will follow at the historical Bailey Tebault House.
After a honeymoon in Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple will reside in Griffin.
Painter-Isbister
Wilson and Kathy Painter of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Robyn Andree Painter, to Peter Michael Isbister, son of John Isbister and Roz Spafford of Santa Cruz, Calif.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Richard and Hazel Olson Brian of Ridgeway, Pa., Mrs. Sarah Graham of Slippery Rock, Pa., and the late Wilson E. Painter Sr. of Evans City, Pa. A graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, she is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a Foundation Fellow. While at the university, she founded and served as president of the UGA chapter of Habitat for Humanity. After graduation, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tsarabaria, Madagascar, for two years. Most recently, she was graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and currently serves as a law clerk for the Hon. Marsha Pechman of the U.S. District Court of Western Washington.
The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Elizabeth King of Madison, Wis. and the late Eugene Huntington King of New York, N.Y., and the late Claude Isbister and Mrs. Ruth Isbister of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A graduate of Santa Cruz High School in California, he was graduated with high honors in government from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and spent a year working with human rights organizations in Guatemala. He recently was graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he had a fellowship as a Public Interest Law Scholar. He currently works as an attorney with the Snohomish County Public Defender in Everett, Wash.
The wedding will be in April, 2006, in Savannah.
Serafin-Kelsey
Lisa Ann Serafin and Kenton Kelsey were married at a Nuptial Mass July 16, 2005, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta. The Rev. John Matejek officiated as the celebrant with the Rev. Fred Wendal as concelebrant.
A reception followed at the Crown Plaza Ravinea in Atlanta.
Matrons of honor were Patti Vickers, sister of the bride, and Meryl Henry, friend of the bride. The maid of honor was Kelly Serafin, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaid was Nicole Kelsey, niece of the groom.
The groom chose his father, the Rev. Donald Kelsey, as his best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Kelsey and Keith Kelsey, brothers of the groom, and Bill Tomasi and Louis Edwards, friends of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Serafin of Marietta. A 1992 graduate of Walton High School, she received a bachelor of science degree from Kennesaw State University. She presently is a teacher at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Atlanta.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kelsey of Peachtree City. A 1990 graduate of McIntosh High School, he received his sound engineering degree from Full Sail Center for Recording Arts in Winter Park, Fla.
