Bad Links? | Inconsistencies found in PTC kidnapping caseBy JOHN MUNFORD Peachtree City police are investigating a reported kidnapping of a young girl that occurred early Wednesday morning in the Windalier Ridge subdivision. But there are major inconsistencies in the victims statement, and police are interviewing friends of the victim and others to determine exactly what happened, said Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray. The victim, a 12-year-old girl, said that a man entered her home and carried her from her bedroom to a truck that was parked nearby on the cart path about 2 a.m., police said. The victim said she was able to get away, and she walked and ran home from the spot where she escaped, about two miles away, said Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray. The victim returned home at 6:30 a.m. and police were not called about the incident until then, officials confirmed. The victim described the attackers vehicle as a tan colored regular cab truck with a dark horizontal stripe down the sides and an automatic transmission. Video tapes from surrounding businesses were being reviewed by police also, officials said. |
