Bad Links? | 05 softball season starts with mixed resultsSandy Creek went 2-2 in the Up the Creek tournament at McCurry Park over the weekend. The Lady Patriots lost to Dutchtown 2-1 on Friday before beating East Coweta 7-1. On Saturday morning, Sandy Creek fell to Newton 5-4 and then lost to the Lady Indians of East Coweta 4-0. Sandy Creek started off the season with four straight wins. They defeated Pike County (3-1), Lamar County (5-1), Griffin (6-2) and Troup (1-0). Sandy Creek will host Whitewater tomorrow at 5 p.m. Whitewater won a game against Rockdale County, 8-5, earlier this season but lost to East Coweta (1-0), Hardaway (2-1) and Luella (5-2). Fayette County also played in the Up the Creek tournament. They defeated Woodward Academy 3-2 on Friday before losing to Jones County 7-0. On Saturday, the Lady Tigers lost to Cherokee 6-1 and then fell to Newnan 3-2. Fayette County will host McIntosh next Wednesday at 5 p.m. Landmark Christian has a record of 3-4 with their wins coming against Meadowcreek (21-0), Our Lady of Mercy (15-9) and Peach County (9-2). The Lady War Eagles losses came against Jackson (3-1), Dutchtown (16-1), Peach County (14-3) and Lamar County (12-0). Landmark will play at Whitefied Academy tomorrow at 5 p.m. |
