Bad Links? | Peachtree City may try to lure Danish businessesBy JOHN MUNFORD The Development Authority of Peachtree City may be able to lure some small Danish companies to move their U.S. operations here, Mayor Steve Brown told the authority Tuesday night. Brown said he recently hosted a Danish consultant who helps companies locate in the Atlanta area. The consultant, Kent Horskjaer Fallesen, was impressed and indicated that one of the most important attractions to Danish companies is quality of life. They dont want Gwinnett County for their corporate headquarters, Brown said. Brown said hed like to have the authoritys help in showing such business prospects around town, and hed like to see the relationship with Denmark become like the citys relationship with a host of Japanese companies. Authority Chairman Steve Fraas reported to the group about his discussions with a representative of CSX Railroad about helping bring business prospects needing rail line locations to the citys industrial park. Fraas was told that many such businesses also need easy interstate access, which is the one commodity Peachtree City doesnt have. Fraas noted that the citys proximity to Hartsfield Jackson International Airport worked in the citys favor when trying to lure businesses and industries. |
