Bad Links? | No charges in fatal crashBy LEE WILLIAMS No charges will be filed in connection with the collision that killed a Peachtree City woman and injured three others, authorities say. June Friedrich, 80, the passenger of a 2004 Ford Taurus, died Wednesday at the Atlanta Medical Center from injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle collision. The accident occurred at 4:54 p.m. at Ga. Highway 54 West and Ebenezer Road. Her husband, Carl A. Friedrich, 81, the driver of the Taurus, was ruled the at-fault party. However, officials declined to pursue the case, according to Capt. Bryan Woodie, supervisor of the Fayette County Sheriffs Office Traffic Enforcement Division. According to earlier reports, Carl Friedrich and his wife were traveling west on Ga. Hwy. 54. Carl Friedrich turned left on Ga. Hwy. 54 in an effort to turn onto Ebenezer Road and pulled into the path of a 2001 Ford Explorer. The Explorer was occupied by driver, Robert Reynolds, 60, of Sharpsburg, and his wife and passenger, 44-year-old Michelle Reynolds. June Friedrich was transported to Atlanta Medical Center where she later died. Carl Friedrich and the Reynolds received minor injuries. They were taken to area hospitals where they were treated and released. |
