Weekend delays on I-85, I-285

There’s more roadwork planned this weekend on I-85 south, and another significant area for logjams will be on I-285 eastbound due to work on the fifth runway at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

On I-85, two southbound lanes and one northbound lane will be closed all weekend until 5 a.m. Monday between the Buffington Road overpass and Flat Shoals Road.

The road work for the fifth runway will affect traffic on I-285 east from Clark Howell Highway to Riverdale Road. Up to three lanes will be closed at one time, as crews set four 170-foot beams across the interstate.

Part of I-20 eastbound is also being resurfaced, resulting in two lanes being closed from the Chattahoochee River to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

All of the work will cease by 5 a.m. Monday so weekday commuters will not be impacted.
