Bad Links? | Enter Your Prize Winning Photos in SCTs Nature Photography ContestSummer may be fading fast, but theres still time to take that winning photograph for Southern Conservation Trusts 2005 Nature Photography Contest. Or the perfect shot may be in your camera, waiting to be developed. SCT invites shutterbugs to submit their best images of local natural areas, wildlife and nature before September 10 for a chance to win. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $500 and a $150 gift certificate from The Great Frame-Up in Peachtree City. 13 winning photos will be featured in SCTs 2006 Nature Calendar, on the SCT website and also may be produced as note cards. The contest judge is professional documentary photographer Derek Bell, professor of photography at the Art Institute of Atlanta and the official photographer for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Photographs will be displayed and winners announced at Southern Conservation Trusts Fall Benefit Growing Greenspace, at historic Catalpa Plantation, outside Newnan October 1. Contest entrants will receive two free tickets to the benefit. Were looking for those photographs that inspire residents to appreciate our areas natural beauty and the necessity to protect it for future generations, explained SCT Executive Director Abby Jordan. Preference will be given to photos taken in Fayette, Coweta, Clayton and Henry counties and South Fulton. SCT is a nonprofit land trust based in Peachtree City that owns, manages and protects over 700 acres of nature preserves in the Southern Crescent. SCT partners with community groups to enhance its nature preserves with trails. SCT also works with willing landowners to help protect scenic open space through tools that may provide tax advantages for the landowner. Photographers may submit no more than two entries with a $25 fee by mail to Southern Conservation Trust, 201 McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City GA 30269 or drop them off at the Great Frame Up or The Great Outdoors in Peachtree City.
