By LINDSAY BIANCHI Enjoy one of Broadways most popular musicals transferred to the big screen when The Villages Amphitheater presents this years final Family Fun Film Night August 13. A free screening of The Phantom of the Opera will give music lovers and romantic suspense affectionatos something to sing about Saturday as Gaston Lerouxs classic French villain swings into action. All are familiar by now with the story which has been filmed numerous times since Lon Chaney first terrified movie patrons in 1925 with his skeletal visage. Since then, Claude Rains, Herbert Lom, and Robert Englund have donned the dreaded mask in dramatic remakes. Finally, the version set to Andrew Lloyd Webers haunting score is given the full Hollywood treatment starring Gerard Butler as The Phantom and Emmy Rossum as Christine Daae, the young soprano fleeing from his clutches. Co-starring Patrick Wilson as love interest Rauel Viscount de Changey, Phantom is sure to make the Villages filmic swan song for 2005 a show to remember. Enjoy an atmospheric romp through the catacombs of Paris as you relax in the cool evening air. Admission is free. Gates open at 8 p.m. Show-time is at 9 p.m. or dark.
