Relay for Kids called successful

A bold initiative named Relay for Kids was recently launched from Re/Max Regional Services for the purpose of raising funds for The Children's Miracle Network.

The initiative includes participating Re/Max brokers and their sales associates in four states (Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and southern Ohio) who pledge funds during a four-month span culminating with a final event in late September in southern Ohio.

Simulating a track and field relay, a baton containing pledges is relayed from participating offices traveling through several towns in Georgia, through Nashville, Louisville, Chattanooga, Lexington and many more locations before ending in Cincinnati.

The baton travels through valleys and mountains by car, train, airplane and Re/Max hot-air balloons until it reaches its final destination. Along the way, pledges are made by participating offices.

Hundreds of sales associates heeded the call and began, in earnest, to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause. They have been most innovative in the manner by which they participated. They held a children's festival with a petting zoo and face paintings, garage sales, cake bakes, casino nights, and auctions with items contributed by local businesses as well as auctioning off Re/Max hot-air balloon rides.

To date, Re/Max offices in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee have pledged $24,000 for the Children's Miracle Network with more to come by the end of September.
