Bad Links? | Iraq a quagmire?
There appears to be two kinds of people in the world today the takers and the givers. The takers are good at what they do; they take, and take, and take, and give nothing in return. On the other hand, the givers give and give and give, and ask nothing in return. You may disagree with me here, but then I dont write articles each week for agreement. The takers are the people who NEVER put themselves, or their families, or their money, or their jobs, or their influence, in harms way. They are also often the most vocal when something goes wrong. Since they are NEVER themselves in harms way, they snipe from concealed positions always ambushing someone who is doing something for God, our country, or for someone else. When I hear the liberal left call Iraq a quagmire, my mind shifts to all of Americas conflicts for freedom. They were all quagmires. War will always be a quagmire. War is not something that is wrapped in packages with beautiful bows on them. It is total sacrifice and nothing more. It never will be anything more. I think of our two world wars and the beaches of Normandy. Talk about a quagmire; what about Pork Chop Hill? Why do you think it was named Pork Chop Hill? What about Guadalcanal? Talk about a quagmire; this is why the liberal left hates President Bush. It is because he is a giver, which makes him a target for the total takers. General Eisenhower was in Europe preparing for D-Day and wrote his wife Mamie that even though he grieved terribly for the soldiers and their families, he firmly believed in the eternal rightness of Americas involvement in the war. Just look at the lives of the people who are most against our efforts in Iraq. John Kerry comes to mind. Ted Kennedy comes to mind. Hanoi Jane has just started her bus tour across America to protest the war in Iraq. This is a very mixed-up woman. She claimed to love the Vietnamese people and spent all her efforts to stop the terrible Americans from freeing them from Communism. After all her efforts, she and the liberal leftist press left out one little detail, and that was the documented fact that millions of Vietnamese went into Communist re-education camps after the fall of Saigon. Many never returned. Maybe Jane and John Kerry and Ted could all get together and start their protests to ask Hanoi to release these Vietnamese people whom they claim to love so much. After the fall of Saigon, all of a sudden, the demonstrations stopped, and all the protests stopped, and Hanoi Jane went about her spoiled lifestyle, championing her taker wrong causes while the Communist butchers all clicked champagne glasses as they herded men, women and children into the camps. It never ceases to amaze me how Americans can sit in the most affluent and prosperous country known to mankind, in all our air-conditioned splendor, in total security, with a glass of iced tea in our hands and smugly say, Im against the war in Iraq. How shamefully selfish and shortsighted! What if it were your freedoms on the line? What if our country had the horrific secret police like the ones seen in Iraq before the war? What if it were your family members who were being dragged off and murdered for no apparent reason? Where are John Kerry, Ted and Jane when you need them? Maybe then they could understand why we are involved in a quagmire. It is clear as a bell to a giver and, unfortunately, a taker will just continue to snipe from their safe, concealed positions. God bless the givers. They will inherit the earth. To the snipers, snipe on, and ask God for forgiveness. He will take you back.
