Bad Links? | Burglary suspects soughtBy BEN NELMS Palmetto Police are seeking one or more suspects in an early evening burglary July 23 of a Center Street convenience store. Det. John Cooper said Wednesday the One Stop Convenience Store on Center Street was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash during store hours. Cooper said that an unknown person, and possibly a second individual, entered the store at approximately 6:45 p.m. and apparently proceeded to the stores public restroom. Once inside the restroom, Cooper said, the perpetrator sawed through a sliding bolt lock attached to a second door that led to the stores office and pried it open with a screwdriver. Once inside the office, a plastic bank bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash was located and the money was removed, said Cooper. The thief exited the store through the front door. Store personnel discovered the burglary within minutes and contacted Palmetto Police. Officer C. A. McIntyre responded to the call. Cooper said police are seeking one, and perhaps two suspects in the burglary. Anyone with information pertaining to the burglary is asked to contact Det. John Cooper at (770) 463-9068. |
