Bad Links? | Child hurt in golf cart mishapBy LEE WILLIAMS An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured about 10 a.m. Thursday when he fell off the back of a golf cart near the McIntosh Trail area in Peachtree City. He was riding on the back seat of the golf cart, Peachtree City Fire Chief Stony Lohr said. They went around the corner and he didnt follow. The boy, who is believed to be from Peachtree City, struck his head when he fell, which concerned rescue officials who responded to the accident. He apparently struck his head on the pavement and when that normally happens the person loses his level of consciousness, Lohr said. If they dont act right while we are there, then something could be potentially wrong. Rescue Air One helicopter crews transported the child to a childrens hospital in Atlanta, Lohr said. A 16-year-old was driving the golf cart at the time of the crash, Peachtree City police officials said. It is unclear what contributed to the accident or how fast the teen was traveling. Information was limited since no incident report was taken in the case, officials said. The 16-year-old had a license and no laws were broken, a representative from the Peachtree City Police Department said. There is no investigation ongoing at this time.
