What do you think of this story? Bad Links? | American band standards76 trombones at the Fox
By LINDSAY BIANCHI There may be Trouble in River City, but thats a good thing for lovers of musical theatre as The Music Man marches across the stage at the fabulous Fox Theatre this week. The show opened last night and runs through this Sunday. One of the boys in the band, Patrick Dyer, adds a bit of local color to an already colorful show. Fourteen year old Dyer, a four-year veteran of the theatre, is the son of Andy and Lacey Dyer of Tyrone. Patrick began his involvement in stage productions with the Atlanta Boys Choir when he was 7 years old. Since then, he has played small parts in community theatre. He played a gingerbread cookie in FCFTs production of Hansel and Gretel and also appeared in The Wizard of Oz, a show that gave the young actors two roles to play. Currently, Patrick plays one of River Citys out-of-control children. Its a lot of fun. It can also be dangerous. he added, referring to the moving set pieces. As a member of the Fayette Youth Chorale in 2003, Patrick was able to travel to New York. I saw Thoroughly Modern Millie while I was there. My dream is to be a big Broadway star. Patrick will attend Landmark Christian School in the fall. Before its time to hit the books again, he is also set to be part of the Fox Theatres upcoming production of Evita on August 2. With his full schedule and love for the stage, it seems that Patricks dream is well on its way to coming true. The Music Man plays through Sunday evening.. Ticket prices are between $20 and $59.
