Lois May Lanier McAlpineLois May Lanier McAlpine, 78, Peachtree City, died July 10, 2005. She was born June 21, 1927 in Savannah, daughter of Linton Brooks and Evie Mae Futch Lanier. She moved to Peachtree City in April, 2004. She was a graduate of Commercial High School and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was very active at Whitefield United Methodist Church, serving as president of The Methodist Womens Society. She and her husband led the Methodist Youth Fellowship for many years. She was a medical secretary with Surgical Associates of Savannah for 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Washington McAlpine Jr.; children, Lois Ann Higgins, Lucie M. Davis, Lawrence W. Larry McAlpine III, and Laurette M. Edenfield; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be sent to Whitefield United Methodist Church. Carl J. She was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Atlanta. Her husband, William D. Royal, preceded her in death. She retired from Big Star Grocery in Fayetteville in the early 1990s. Services were at the Carl J. He was born April 25, 1917 in Polk County. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 34 years of service. He was member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. He was born Nov. 22, 1933 in New York City. He served in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Army and was retired from Delta Air Lines. He was a longtime member of Flat Creek Golf Course, the 10 a.m. group, in Peachtree City. Memorial services were at Carl J. Mowell chapel with chaplain Gary Lewis and Charles Bergstrom, M. D., officiating.
