Bad Links? | Summer means burger timeBy F.C. FOODIE As we get ready to move into the dog days of summer, many of us our spending more time outside and less in the kitchen. For many folks, July and August weekends mean neighborhood gatherings of slapping burgers on the backyard grill. Well, for those of you who want the taste of one of those delicious burgers, but dont want to spend all evening trying to get the grill lit, a recently-opened restaurant provides an easy solution. Back Yard Burgers has opened in the old Schlotzskys on Ga. Highway 74 In Peachtree City and will soon open another location at the former Schlotzskys on Ga. Highway 85 in Fayetteville. The original restaurant opened in Cleveland, Miss. in 1987 and the chain has now grown to more than 150 locations. The chain is primarily centered in the South and Midwest and features the taste of grilled burgers without the hassle. I happened to try the eatery over the July 4 weekend and was very pleased by the quality of the food. The company uses Black Angus Beef, which is top shelf meat. The burgers are extremely juicy and delicious, and the restaurant offers a variety of signature burgers for their red-meat loving customers. One of the more interesting options is the Hawaiian burger, which features a grilled pineapple slice, along with Swiss cheese. You can also add sauteed mushrooms, chili or cole slaw to any sandwiches. The restaurant also features chicken sandwiches, veggie sandwiches, and cheese dogs. Back Yard serves fries, but also offers a traditional baked potato, along with a ranch potato, that has bacon bits, cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. If you have a sweet tooth, Back Yard can also accommodate you. All malts and shakes are hand-dipped, and fresh-baked cobblers come in a variety of flavors. The company also offers catering service and will bring the delicious sandwiches and side items to your home or office. Back Yard will also set up and clean up, so you can have the ultimate barbecue experience without the worry.
