Shadow Lake model opens

Homes in third phase under construction

The Classic Smith Homes model home in the 28-home phase three of Shadow Lake near Interstate 20 in Rockdale County is open and 12 homes in the new phase are in various stages of construction.

In over 21 years as a builder, Smith has perfected the construction technique of varying the front elevations of his homes so that houses with virtually the same floor plan can be next door to each other and yet look entirely different. He changes brick color and varies the stucco, stone, stacked stone, columns, arches and other features of the homes, and even changes the position of the homes on the sites. The net result is that the homes' front elevations are modified dramatically. "We are constantly evolving these plans and elevations so that we always stay current on home trends and provide fresh ideas while the homes retain a classic American look," Smith said.

The phase three homes in the nearly 100-home Shadow Lake community are approximately 3,500 to 4,000 sq. ft. Home sites are approximately three quarters of an acre and larger, with sites of approximately one-acre available on the lake. Prices range from the low $300,000s to the mid-$400,000s (higher for waterfront homes).

Interiors include a wide variety of standard and optional features available for viewing in the new custom home. Exterior features include three or four sides brick exterior; professional landscaping with sod front, side and partial back yards; a sprinkler system in the sodded areas; fiberglass roof shingles with 20-year manufacturers warranty; custom deck with a sidewalk to the driveway, as well as other features.

These and other interior and exterior features are on view in the new model home.

Shadow Lake is a development of Ray Hill and his Judoray Development Corporation. When this third phase is completed, swimming and tennis facilities will be built for the entire community.
