Bad Links? | Fayette Samaritans need Bibles, other itemsBy CAROLYN CARY The Fayette Samaritans is a 12 year-old nonprofit organization that is primarily a food and clothing bank. They often receive a request for a Bible but often the demand exceeds the Bibles on hand. It would appreciate donations of unmarked Bibles with little or no wear. Any translation would be appreciated, both in English and Spanish. There is a need for large-print Bibles. The organization has checked with various Bible store suppliers, but the cost of the large-print ones exceeds the funds donated for this purpose. Bibles can be brought to your church or delivered directly to the Samaritans. Other current needs include peanut butter and jelly, canned fish and meat, spaghetti sauce and pasta, canned fruit, boxed cereal, fruit juices, rice, beans or potatoes, laundry soap and toilet tissue. The clothing bank needs new packaged underwear for men and children. The Fayette Samaritans are headquartered at 120 Hickory Road, behind the Fayetteville Christian Church. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. To reach them by phone, call 770-719-2707. |
