Bad Links? | RVI students win awards at state conferenceThree Related Vocational Instruction (RVI) students earned first place medals at the annual RVI state conference and competition on Jekyll Island in May. Lauren Dix of Starrs Mill High, under the direction of coordinator Judy Belisle, received first place for Interior Design Level I. Amanda McElreath and India Rorie, both from Sandy Creek High under the supervision of coordinator Susan Turner, received first place for Interior Design Level II and Early Childhood Education, respectively. Justin Miles, also from Sandy Creek, placed third in the Job Application/Interview category. Sandy Creek student Kyle Briscoe and Dianna Strickland and Maia Wallace, both from Fayette County High, received a participation medal. In addition to the competition, the three-day conference also featured workshop sessions covering topics such as transitioning from school to work and benefits planning. |
