Colonel in the United States Army serving two tours of duty in Viet Nam and Korea. He worked 24 years as a military plan specialist, prior to retiring from civil service in Oct., 2004. Services were at Carmichael-Hemperley chapel with the Rev. Stephen Soulen officiating. Interment was at Arlington National Cemetery. Survivors include is wife of 40 years, Linda H. Johnston, Peachtree City; daughters, Waverly Emmons, Lumberton, N. J., Noelle Galper, Smyrna, Melanie Johnston, Roswell, and Jennifer Johnston, Smyrna; a brother, Robert Johnston, Ft. Survivors include his mother, Magdalene Sohan, Brooklyn; brothers, Trevor Sohan, and Tracy Sohan, both of Brooklyn; a sister, Linda Ann Tatum, Greensboro, N. C.; one niece; and one great-niece. He was born Aug. 24, 1918 in Finleyson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence N. and Lilly Butler Cook Sr., and a brother, Clarence N. Cook Jr. He worked for Southern Railway in Atlanta for 40 years, retiring in 1983 as an Industrial Properties Manager. He was active for many years at Mt. Paran North Church of God. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ragan Vandegriff officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret Margy Cook, Peachtree City; children, Joy White, Peachtree City, Rebecca Becky McNair, Fayette County, and James Jim C. Donald Eugene DavenportDonald Eugene Davenport, 77, Peachtree City, died June 13, 2005. He was born April 20, 1928 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Davenport, and J. D. Davenport. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He retired with 32 years of service with Lockheed. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bob Partridge officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include a son, Dennis and Becky Davenport, Fayetteville; daughters, Lynn Hudson, and Holly and Jason Smith, all of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Jack and Garland Davenport, Katie Holewinsky, Ryan Smith, and Kerri Austin; and brothers, Terry and Della Mae Davenport, Newnan, and Jimmy and Genelle Davenport, Homosassa, Fla. He was born June 13, 1925 in Park Rapids, Minn., son of Urban and Inez Mack. He had served in the United States Army Corps. He was employed for 18 years by Minnesota Power and Light as an Illumination Engineer. In 1968 he managed a recreational vehicle sales business in Florida, which eventually brought him to Georgia. He was employed for many years at the Aberdeen Bottle Shop in Peachtree City, and most recently at Southtowne of Newnan. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Father Austin Fogarty and Deacon Steve Beers officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newnan. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lavon F. Mack, Peachtree City; sons, Kay W. and Tony Mack, and Johnnie and SanDee Mack, all of Sharpsburg; a daughter, Janet and Larry Robertson, Raymond; a brother, Gerald and JoAnn Mack, Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Patricia Mack, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was born July 22, 1931 in Freehold, N. J., daughter of Peter and Catherine Judakis Globis. She was the sixth daughter of 14 siblings. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Patricia A. Pressey. She moved to Peachtree City in 1988. She retired from MCC Panasonic, Peachtree City in 2004 after being employed with them for 15 years. She was fondly known there as Miss Ann. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Survivors include daughters, Susan A. Hummel, Peachtree City, with whom she lived, and Charlotte K. and Andrew C. Farquhar, Lansdowne, Pa.; grandchildren, Jamey M. Kelley, Ocala, Fla., Krystal L. Waycaster, Jacksonville, Fla., Courtney S. Hummell, Peachtree City, and known as Nana of Lovey to Elliot J. and Zoe C. Farquhar, Landsdowne, Pa.; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Peter Globis, Freehold, N. J., Charles Globis, and John Globis; and sisters, Katherine Lewis and Helen Gravatt, both of Freehold, N.
