Services were at the Brooks United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Schofield officiating. Interment was at Brooks Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Spaller; sons, Don and Laura Spaller, Brooks, and Jon Spaller, Macon; grandchildren, Stacy Spaller, and Shawn Newman; great-grandchildren, Savannah Newman, Shawn Newman, and Rachel Newman; mother-in-law, Evelyn Spaller, Fayetteville; and a sister, Cheryl Weamer, Billings, Mont. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. Marianna Shugart LaneyMarianna Shugart Laney, 80, died June 3, 2005. She was born May 26, 1925 in Decatur. She was preceded in death in 1986 by her husband of 39 years, Ennis Glenn Laney Jr. She worked for Atlantic Coastline Railway Company until she married Glenn Laney, of East Point, in January, 1947. She was a longtime member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, East Point, Fayetteville First Baptist Church, and a charter member of Rivers Edge Community Church, Fayetteville. She was temporarily paralyzed in an accident in 1989 and wrote a short story of her recovery A Miracle Touched My Life. It was also included in two published books. Services were in the Overton Chapel, Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Ellis, the Rev. Steve Hester, and the Rev. Dr. John Hatcher officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. Survivors include sons, Ennis and Laurien Laney, Fayetteville, and Wink and Bonnie Laney, Sandy Springs; grandchildren, Ellen and Brian Jeffers, Glenn Laney IV and fiancé, Dawn Holiday, Amy Sutter, and Brandon Laney; a great-grandchild, Anna Jeffers; and sister-in-law, Barbara Shugart, Gainesville. Eide, 81, Peachtree City, died June 3, 2005. He was born Oct. 7, 1923 in Seattle, Wash. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Eide, Peachtree City; a daughter, Cindy Eide Schuermann, Dallas, Texas, and Kristi Eide, Atlanta; grandchildren, Kirsten Schuermann, Dallas, Texas, Weston Eide, Kalispell, Mont., and Chelsea Eide, St. Maries, Idaho; and a great-grandson, Daniel Eide, St. Maries, Idaho. A service will be held at Queen of All Saints Mt. Carmel Cemetery, in Illinois, at a later date. Survivors include sons, Ronald and Christine Scacco, and Bruce and Donna Scacco, all of Chicago, Ill, and Daniel Scacco, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Carl J. Though the oldest of three children, she was preceded in death by brothers, Louis Ruotolo, and Daniel Ruotolo. Services were at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Jonesboro, with interment at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Hancock, the original owner of Dells Drive Inn, Fayetteville; children, Carol and David Cavender, Joyce and Wayne Banks, and Mike Hancock; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
