Bad Links? | Pathway takes the lead in conservation partnershipPathway Communities, recognized nationally for preserving greenspace in its developments, has donated a lead gift to Southern Conservation Trust, becoming SCTs first Conservation Leader in its Conservation/Business Partnership program. Pathway's CEO Doug Mitchell presented the check to Abby Jordan, SCTs executive director, and Julian Campbell, SCT Board chair. Southern Conservation Trust is a 10-year-old conservation nonprofit based in Fayette County. In addition to managing the Flat Creek and Line Creek Nature Areas in Peachtree City, SCT is authorized to hold conservation easements, a legal tool that can help landowners protect their land while continuing to own and use it. SCT also owns the Sams Lake preserve on Old Senoia Rd, which is currently being restored to a wetland and is expected to open as a public wildlife sanctuary in early 2006. Investing in greenspace preservation make our area more desirable for economic development and offers a better quality of life for residents. Conserving natural land is a great legacy for the future. We appreciate Pathways leadership and look forward to working with other local business leaders, said Jordan.
