Bad Links? | Airport Authority approves hangar project contract By MICHAEL J. THOMPSON Future plans for improving Falcon Field were set in motion as PBS&J Engineering was awarded the contract for the Hangar Area C Phase I project, at Wednesday nights Airport Authority meeting. Good thing about PBS&J is that they have a great relationship with the state and the FAA, said Airport Manager John Crosby. The project results will assist the authority in determining how much land is available and the type and number of structures that can be constructed on the property that is located on west end of the runway. The land in question is roughly 60 acres, said Assistant Airport Manager Andrew Bolton. We really have no idea what might go there, until we get some idea from them (PBS&J) and see what they say we might be able construct, he said. PBS&J will receive $45,916 for the study, with the funds coming from the FAA and the aviation trust fund. Currently the land that will be surveyed by the PBS&J consultants is land-locked, although plans to pave the rest of Aviation Way granting access to the undeveloped parcel are underway. The first part of Aviation Way was paved last year with the help of Peachtree Citys Water and Sewer Authority. The Airport Authority and WASA have agreed to split the project. In other news, the Peachtree City Airport Authority has designated June 18 as Tenant Appreciation Day. Authority members and airport staff will be at Falcon Field terminal from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free food is provided is and everyone is welcome. A discount of up to $.25 cents per gallon on 100 LL of gas will be available to tenants.
