Bad Links? | ObituariesFred M. MartinFred M. Martin, 56, Fayetteville, died May 28, 2005. He was born Oct. 12, 1948 in Newnan, son of the late Carl and Delta Faith Wallis Martin. He was in the United States Army in the Vietnam conflict. He was a staff accountant with Georgia Power, and received a 30-year service award. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Services were at the McKoon chapel with the Rev. Joe Strickland officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include his wife, Judy Moore Martin; sons, Christopher Michael Martin, Newnan, and Bryan Carl and Stephannie Martin, Buford; and grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Martin, Victoria Grace Martin, and Stephannie Lynn Martin. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
Leo Anthus DarnellLeo Anthus Darnell, 93, Stockbridge, formerly of Fayetteville, died May 29, 2005. He was born Sept. 14, 1911 in Salem, Ind. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Survivors include a son, Richard and Jacki Grindle; a daughter, Myrna Lee and Jerry Ogden; grandchildren, Jeri Lee Ogden, Kathy Ogden, Anthony Ogden, Mark Grindle, Daniel Grindle, Michael Kelly and Timothy Kelly; and eight great grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
Vincent CannizzaroVincent Vinnie Cannizzaro, 65, Fayetteville, died May 30, 2005. He was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Brooklyn N. Y. He had served in the United States Army and had worked for Bayer Instruments for 17 years. He enjoyed computers, reading, and science fiction. A funeral mass was held at St. Gabriels Catholic Church with interment at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Fran Cannizzaro, Fayetteville; a brother, Joseph Cannizzaro, Wantagh, N.Y.; a nephew, Michael; and uncle and aunt, Jack and Lucy Perna, Florida. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
Gaines Preston McLendonGaines Preston McLendon, 100, Riverdale, Fayette County, died May 31, 2005. He was born Oct. 13, 1904 in Carroll County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Elder Horner Benefield officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn. Survivors include two children; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Carl J.
