Shots fired: Rick OBrian, 58, of Turnbridge Circle, Peachtree City, and his wife, heard one shot fired, possibly from a .22-caliber pistol, in the golf cart path behind Cedar Croft subdivision at 8:58 p.m. May 28. The couple also heard several juveniles laughing after the shot was fired. The couple told police they saw three juveniles on a golf cart around the same time, but was unsure of physical descriptions or the number on the golf cart. Fayette Co. Fire and Emergency Services Smoke scare: At 3:25 p.m. May 31, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a smoke scare at 317 Quarters Road. Station tour: At 6:52 p.m. May 31, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel conducted a station tour at 1830 S. 85 Highway. Hazardous material release: At 6:33 p.m. June 1, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 101 Kenwood Drive to investigate after a case of hazardous material released into the air was reported. Gas leak: At 11:03 p.m. June 1, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a gas leak at 325 Etowah Trace. Electrical problem: At 8:28 p.m. June 2, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 2021 Redwine Road after a problem with arcing, shorted electrical equipment was reported. Gas leak: At 9:50 p.m. June 4, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a gas leak at 225 Greenview Circle. Smoke scare: At 1:12 p.m. June 5, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a smoke scare at Ashmere and Ascot Drive. Lightning strike: At 6:28 p.m. June 5, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 140 Domino Court after lightning strike the unit. No fire was reported. From June 1-5: the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services received 81 calls for help. Fayetteville Fire Dept. Grass fire: At 8:24 p.m. May 23, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a grass fire at 380 Grady Ave. Electrical problem: At 11:31 a.m. May 28, Fayetteville firefighters responded to an electrical problem at 210 Carriage Chase Drive. The problem was caused from defective wiring. Carbon monoxide incident: At 6 p.m. June 1, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 295 Jeff Davis Place. Electrical wiring or equipment problem: At 11:25 a.m. June 2, Fayetteville firefighters responded to an electrical wiring or equipment problem at 260 Lockmeade Way. Smoke scare: At 11:27 p.m. June 5, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a smoke scare at 115 S. Morning Dove Drive. From May 23-June 5: the Fayetteville received 80 calls for help. Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Accident: At 12:37 p.m. May 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a vehicle accident at Highway 54 and Huddleston Road. EMS transported one person to the hospital. Structure fire: At 12:01 p.m. June 1, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a structure fire at 203 Silverwood. Firefighters arrived and found smoke and flames coming from the attached garage area. The crews stretched three lines, one was used to attack the fire in the garage and another was used to extinguish the fire that had extended into the attic and protect the main residence. The third line was used to protect the interior crews. Firefighters were successful in stopping the fire from extending into the main part of the dwelling. All the utilities were turned off and house was returned to the building department and homeowner. Alarm: At 10:29 a.m. June 2, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a fire alarm at McIntosh High School, 201 Walt Banks. The alarm was false and caused by construction. Transformer Fire: At 10:34 a.m. June 2, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a transformer fire and wires down call at 407 Highway 74 North. A truck had torn down wires from a power pole. EMC was notified and fire crews waited on scene until their arrival. Lightning strike: At 5:37 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 1514 Peachtree Station Circle. Firefighters arrived to find the resident thought there had been a lightning strike. The firefighters checked residence for indications of a lightning strike and found nothing. Structure fire: At 5:57 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 208 Melrah Hill. The firefighters arrived to find there had been a stove fire and the resident had extinguished it by using an extinguisher. The stove and kitchen area was checked for fire extension. Nothing was found. Fire crews helped resident ventilate the smoke-filled home. The residence was turned over to the occupant and the occupant was told to contact an electrician before they used the stove again. Flooding: At 6:05 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported flooding at 1000 Stevens Entry, Building J. Firefighters arrived to find the lower floors or apartments of Building J had been flooded. The rain had caused the flooding. The apartment management company and the building department was notified. A building department official arrived and inspected the apartments. Occupants were allowed to stay in the building and were given information about recovery. American Red Cross and the Fayette County EMA Director had been notified but was not needed. Lightning strike: At 6:09 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to 100 Hanbury Lane. Firefighters arrived to find light smoke in the garage. It appeared the house had sustained a lighting strike. The damage was contained to the garage area specifically the garage door opener. Fire crews helped resident ventilate the home for smoke. The residence was turned over to the occupant and the occupant was told to contact an electrician to check the garage area and rewire the garage opener. Flooding: At 6:24 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported flooding at 300 Willowbend Suite D. Firefighters arrived to find a problem with the draining system from the roof. Management was advised that it needed to be repaired Flooding: At 7:39 p.m. June 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported flooding at Tinsley Mill Village. Firefighters arrived to find the area was flooded, but had not moved into the residences. The Peachtree City Dive Team responded and used their fire department boats to check residences and evacuate one person. All other occupants chose to stay in their condos. The rain had caused the flooding. Building Department officials were notified. The Building official arrived and inspected the condos. Occupants were allowed to stay in the buildings. American Red Cross and the Fayette County EMA Director had been notified but was not needed. From May 30-June 5: Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to 51 calls for help.
