Open Word Christian Ministries readies for International SundayOpen Word Christian Ministries in Fairburn will host its second annual International Sunday June 20, celebrating and honoring diversity and unity in the South Fulton county area. With the growing diversity of cultures in south Fulton county, its important for churches to be proactive in welcoming people of all backgrounds, said Open Words pastor Gary K. Taylor. It has been said that Sunday morning is the most segregated time in America. Our International Sunday festival is just our way of embracing and appreciating everyone in our community. The event was begun to promote unity among South Fulton churches and the community as a whole. All local churches and the general public are invited to attend the festival activities which will include a 10 a.m. worship service featuring guest speakers from varying backgrounds and denominations and global cuisine sampling after the worship service. There is no charge for the festival but a $1 donation is requested from those sampling the selection of ethnic cuisine prepared by local vendors. Local churches, choirs and dance ministers who wish to participate in the event, or those who wish to reserve seating for large groups, may contact Open Word Ministries at 770-964-3379 or by e-mail at info@owcm.org. Open Word is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 92 and Dodson Rd. west of Fairburn. |
