Bad Links? | Morrissey now an Eagle ScoutWilliam Michael Morrissey, a Fayetteville resident and a freshman at Whitewater High School, was recently awarded Boy Scout of Americas highest rank of Eagle Scout. A ceremony honoring Williams accomplishments was held April 18. He began his scouting career in fourth grade joining Cub Scout Den 1, Pack 212, of Peachtree City in 1999. Ron McCauley was Williams Den Leader and is presently one of Williams Scoutmasters. Ron McCauley is also an Eagle Scout. William continued his Scouting journey by "crossing over" into Boy Scout Troup 209. The Troop is sponsored by Saint Andrews in the Pines Episcople Church of Peachtree City. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout Morrissey completed 24 merit badges, served in leadership positions within his troop, and for his Eagle Leadership Project; planned and constructed an outdoor classroom for Oak Grove Elementary. Materials for this project were generously donated by Carl Smith Lumber Company of Turin. Beyond Scouting, Morrissey is currently a member of Whitewater High Schools track team and in the fall a cross-country team member. He also has achieved perfect school attendance for ten consecutive years (kindergarten through present). Morrissey is the son of Etta and Jim Morrissey of Fayetteville. His grandparents are Mr. And Mrs. Anthony Morrissey of Peachtree City and Mr. And Mrs. William Aiken of Lyons, Georgia. He has two younger brothers, Anthony and Matthew. |
