Bad Links? | Students earn honors on national French examTwo French students at Sandy Creek High are ranked among the best in the state according to results from the National French Exam. Kip Dunlap and Ana Terron took the exam in March for levels 2 and 3, respectively. Statewide, Dunlap was ranked 24 out of 620 students and Terron placed 11th out of 506 students. The National French Exam is an hour-long national examination designed, written, financed and disseminated by the members of the American Association of Teachers of French. Students are tested on their vocabulary and grammar skills as well as their knowledge of the French culture. This exam was a great opportunity for the students to test their knowledge of French against other students in Georgia, said Sandy Creeks French teacher Stephane Allagnon. The Georgia Association of Teachers of French honored Dunlap and Terron at their annual awards ceremony May 9 for their outstanding placement at the state level. The purpose of the exam is to stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of French and to help identify and reward achievement on the part of both students and teachers. |
