Dr. and Mrs. William Steven Owens of Fayetteville announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Sheryl Elizabeth Owens, to Michael Ray Nelson, son of Gary Nelson of Yardley, Pa. and Mrs. Cheri Miller of Winter Springs, Fla.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Winifred Lent of Hornell, N.Y. and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Owens of Amarillo, Texas. She is a 2000 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2005 graduate of The University of Central Florida where she earned a B.S. degree in elementary education.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lopeman of Sanford, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hillje of Winter Springs, Fla. He is a 2001 graduate of University High School in Orlando, Fla., and a 2004 graduate of The University of Central Florida where he earned a B.S. degree in marketing. Following the wedding, he will pursue a master of divinity degree in theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
The wedding will be June 4, 2005, at Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville with a reception following in the fellowship hall.
After a cruise in the Southern Caribbean islands, the couple will reside in Louisville, Ky.
Keener-DaSilva
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Keener of Newnan announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Marie, to Jonathan Howell DaSilva, son Mr. and Mrs. Tony DaSilva of Peachtree City.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Nightengale of Fayetteville and Mrs. Virgie Keener and the late Henry B. Keener of Highlands, N.C. She is a 2001 graduate of Sandy Creek High School and a 2005 cum laude graduate of North Georgia College and State University. She earned a bachelor of science degree in middle grades education and will teach seventh grade language arts at Vickery Creek Middle School in Cumming in the fall.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hargett of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony DaSilva of Stone Mountain. He is a 1999 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2005 graduate of North Georgia College and State University. He earned a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing and is currently employed by Takeuchi U.S. in Buford.
The wedding will be June 25, 2005, at Heatherwood Baptist Church in Newnan. The couple will reside in Cumming.
Warr-Baxter
Dr. and Mrs. Charles Warr announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Sarah Amanda, to Charles Wayne Baxter II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Baxter of Thomaston, formerly of Lakeland, Fla.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Oakley of Fayetteville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Warr of Jonesboro. She is a 1999 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2003 graduate of Georgia College and State University where she received a degree in early childhood education. She currently is pursuing a graduate degree in early childhood education from the State University of West Georgia. She is employed by the Fayette County Board of Education where she teaches first grade at Cleveland Elementary School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bennett of Griffin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baxter of Lakeland, Fla. He is a 2000 graduate of Upson-Lee High School and a 2004 graduate of Berry College where he received a degree in animal science. He is employed by Ivey Management Corporation as a project manager.
The wedding will be at 3 p.m., June 11, 2005, at Woolsey Baptist Church.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Brooks.
Rye-Rossey

The groom-elect is the grandson of Phyllis and Forrest Rossey Jr. of Clarksville, David and Martha Fitzgerald of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and the late James and Cora Lee Byrd of Tallapoosa. A 1997 graduate of Sandy Creek High School, he attended Georgia Southern University and Georgia Military College and presently is a telecommunications contractor.
The wedding will be June 11, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Newnan, with a reception at the Newnan Country Club.
Following a honeymoon in Florida, the couple will reside in Newnan.
Briscoe-Thompson

The groom-elect is a 2001 graduate of Sandy Creek High School. He recently completed a four year term in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of sergeant. He served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is scheduled to begin classes at Nashville Auto Diesel College in July.
The wedding will be Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Four Points Sheraton Resort in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. A reception will be held for the couple Friday, July 15, at Annabella at Cedar Glen in Huntsville, Ala.
