What do you think of this story? | Art contest setThe Rotary Club of Peachtree City, The Endowment Committee for the Cultural Arts of Fayette County and the Fayette Family YMCA have joined forces to sponsor the annual art contest for middle and high school students. The art contest is scheduled as part of the YMCA's open house May 22. Beginning at 2 p.m., individuals will have an opportunity to tour the facilities as well as an introduction to Camp Deer Point, the Y's extensive summer day camp program. Entry forms for the art contest are available from each of the middle and high school art teachers and at the YMCA office at 215 Huiet Road in Fayetteville. Look for the red information box located at the office entrance to secure an application. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. May 20. Entries of art work in oils, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink or water color that have been created within this school year will be accepted. The contest is open to Fayette County students and is divided into two groups. Division One for grades six through eight and Division Two for grades nine through twelve. Prizes will be awarded in each division and include $150 first place, $75 second place and $50 for third place. Judging will be performed by well known Fayette County artist, Sylvia Feenaghty. The art will remain on display from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Y's activity building.
