She was born Dec. 20, 2002 in Tokyo, Japan and was baptized there in the Roman Catholic Church at Franciscan Chapel Center by the Rev. Father Claudio Gianesin. She moved to Fayetteville at the age of seven months. She attended Providence United Methodist Church M.M.O. program. Services were at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Jimmy Adams officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville. Survivors include her parents, Tim and Marilyn Dungan, Fayetteville; siblings, Lindsay, Charlotte, Jay, and Mark, all of Fayetteville; grandparents, Larry and Sue Dungan, Friendswood, Texas, and Oliver Jerry and Ann Rowell, Plano, Texas. Herschel Loy WestHerschel Loy West, 83, Fayetteville, died April 28, 2005. He was born Nov. 9,1921 in Fayette County, son of Herschel and Nora Waldrop West. He was a pilot for the United States Army Air Corps in World War II. He owned and operated his own accounting firm, West Accounting & Management Services, for over 50 years. He was a Shriner and a member of The Rotary Club of Fayetteville. Graveside services were at Friendship United Methodist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Thurman Slusser officiating. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Blanche P. West, Fayetteville; a son, Phillip and Edna Wampler, Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Sylvia Jean and Danford Ward, Chicago, Ill; grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Mark, Valerie, and James; and two great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. Victoria OfieluVictoria Ofielu, 4, Fayetteville, died May 1, 2005. She was born Sept. 7, 2000 in The Gambia, Africa. She was born with hydrocephalus and came to America at the age of 10 days. She has had over 27 surgeries and survived two bouts of meningitis. Services were at New Hope Baptist Church, North Campus, with the Rev. Dr. John Avant officiating. Interment was at New Hope Baptist Cemetery. Survivors include her parents, Lazarus and Joy Ofielu; and siblings, Isaac Ofielu, and Esther Ofielu. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Victoria House Mission Fund. It supports mission work in Africa by building the Victoria Mission House adjacent to the existing New Hope Clinic and ValleyBrook Kindergarten in Obimo, Enugu, State of Nigeria. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. Arthur Lynn HolbrooksArthur Lynn Holbrooks, 77, Social Circle, died May 2, 2005. He was born in Stephens County, son of Arthur and Jeneva Brown Holbrooks. He was preceded in death by brothers, R. J. Holbrooks, and G. T. Holbrooks. He was a veteran of the United States Army air Corps and the United States Air Force in World War II. He was retired from General Motors in October, 1986. Services were at the Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor Victor Massey and Pastor Greg Marksberry officiating. Interment was at Lawnwood Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Betty Holbrooks; a son, Mitchell D. and Desma Holbrooks, Lawrenceville; daughters, Linda Sholar, Fayetteville, and Debbie and John Mitchell, Germantown, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister. She was born July 20, 1916 in Fayette County, the daughter of Barney Austin and Mattie Lou Farr Adams. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Cliff Sandal officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include a son, Lee and Shana Hanson, Jonesboro; sisters, Jane Fincher, Barnesville, and Earlene Lee, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Shanaka Twilley, Ashley Terrette, and Tifton Terrette; and a great-grandchild, Danni Twilley. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge. John Russell SchellJohn Russell Schell, 88, Peachtree City, died May 3, 2005. He was born May 2, 1917 in Fulton County. He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. John R. Schell Jr., of Fairburn. He was a veteran of World War II, and a master sergeant for four years in the United States Armed Forces, Far East. He was a co-owner of Carusos Italian Restaurant near the Atlanta airport with his brother, Asa Bubba Schell. He was retired from the United States Postal Service, Decatur. He was an honorary member of Jimmy Carters presidential campaign and loved deer hunting, and fishing. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with interment at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hazel Schell, Peachtree City; a son, Jim and Gail Schell, Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Janice Schell, Fairburn; a sister-in-law, Judy Schell, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Shannon Schell, Chris Schell, Roy Schell, and Stephen Schell; nephews, the Rev. Rodney and Maria Schell, Billy Green, David Green, and Phil and Janet Schell; and nieces, Debra Lindamood, Linda and Jim Florriech, and Diane and Jim Clausen. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
