Deborah Shankle Leonard

Deborah Shankle Leonard, 55, Peachtree City, died April 6, 2005. She was born April 5, 1955 in Durham County, N. C. Memorial services were at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, David Bright Leonard, Peachtree City; children, David Andrew, Brenden Charles, and Jennifer Lauren; parents, Joel and Carolyn Shankle, Culpeper, Va., brothers, Michael Shankle, Apex, N. C., and Steven Shankle, Peachtree City; five nephews; and two nieces. Dustin Chad Lovett

Dustin Chad Lovett, 23, Fayetteville, died April 7, 2005. He was born June 15, 1981 in Fulton County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bob Morgan officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his parents, Donald and Cheryl Lovett, Fayetteville; brothers, Zach Lovett, and Kyle Lovett, both of Fayetteville; and his beloved dog, “KS”. Carl J. Doris Campbell Cartledge

Doris Campbell Cartledge, 87, Fayetteville, died April 11, 2005. She was born Oct. 28, 1917 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Cartledge. Services were the College Park Presbyterian Church with interment at the College Park Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Ben and Marcia Cartledge; daughters, Carolyn and Wilson Stephens, and Kathryn and Elizabeth Cartledge-Eve; grandchildren, Sidney McLane Stephens, Brian Dovard Cartledge, Mary Hart Craig, and Bess Bryan-Rouse; two great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Sara C. Porter, and Bonnie Cartledge. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, was in charge.

Loren M. Petersen

Captain Loren M. “Pete” Petersen, 64, Jacksonville, formerly of Peachtree City, and Hammock Dunes, Palm Coast, Fla., died April 11, 2005. He was born Nov. 15,1940 in San Pedro, Calif., and graduated from the public schools in North Hollywood, Calif. He was active in sports, and was graduated from UCLA in 1963. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963 and flew for it until 1969. He then worked as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, finishing his 31-year career as a captain on the Boeing 767, flying international routes to Europe. Memorial services were at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Lynne Lumpkins Petersen; a son, Andy and Tina Petersen; a daughter, Kristie and Tom Renaud; stepdaughters, Lindsay Huband, and Caroline Huband; grandchildren, Courtney, Emily, Katie, Nathan, and Matthew; a brother, David and Leslie Petersen; and a sister, Karen and Ron Bott. Memorial donations may be made to the Joseph Sams School, 280 Brandywine Rod, Fayetteville, GA 30214, or the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Billy Gene Wilbanks

Billy Gene Wilbanks, 68, Fayetteville, died April 12, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford J. K. Wilbanks. Memorial services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Black officiating. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Lou Wilbanks, Fayetteville; a son, Jeffrey Howe Wilbanks, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; his mother, Mary Louise Wilbanks, Walnut, Miss.; brothers, Ken Wilbanks, and Roger Wilbanks, both of Jackson, Tenn.; and sisters, Betty Noles, Bolivar, Tenn., and Fran Melton, Walnut, Miss. Jason Leonard Finch

Jason Leonard Finch, 23, Athens, formerly of Fayetteville, died April 12, 2005. He was born May 26, 1981 in Clayton County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet T. Finch, and a sister, Alison Finch. Memorial services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father John Walsh officiating. Survivors include his father, Leonard E. and Susan Finch, Eagan, Minn.; grandmother, Nina Winant, Union City; an aunt, Nancy James, Florida; and cousins, Mike, Brian, Denise, Kathy, Scott, and Emalee. Bernadine Beverly Toff

Bernadine Beverly Toff, 76, Fayetteville, died April 13, 2005. She was born Aug. 14, 1928 in Luzerne County, Pa. She was preceded death by her husband, Maurice Toff. Services were in Wilkes Barre, Pa., with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, Pa. Survivors include daughters, Candace and Stan Ulecki, Jacksonville, Fla., and Janel and Joel Shuler, Fayetteville; and granddaughters, Danelle, and Kaylee. Arnice Marsh Goldin, 86, Monticello, formerly of Fayetteville, died April 14, 2005. She was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Holly Pond, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Roy Goldin. Graveside services were at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating.
