Focusing on adult active housing marketTwo well-known homebuilding professionals in Atlanta, Mark Carruth of Loren Construction Company Inc. and Steve Romeyn of Romeyn Designs Inc., have formed a new company to serve the active adult housing market. The new company, Windsong Properties LLC, is already involved in building active adult neighborhoods in two Atlanta area master planned communities. Windsong Properties, based in Woodstock, is owned by the principals of Loren Construction Company Inc. and Romeyn Designs Inc. Between them, they have over 50 years of experience in the Atlanta residential market. Carruth and Romeyn, who are also the principals of Windsong Properties, said their intention is to create neighborhoods where active adults living in well-crafted homes, placed in the right setting, and energized by friendly neighbors can enjoy the Windsong Lifestyle. Carruth, the owner and president of Woodstock-based Loren Construction, is a graduate in business administration from the University of Georgia. He has owned and operated Loren Construction for 21 years and has built over 1,000 homes in several master planned communities in Cobb, Paulding and Cherokee counties, including Legacy Park, Deer Run Town Lake Hills, Eagle Watch and Bentwater. Loren Construction has also developed Courtland Park, Mirramont and Heritage Town Park communities. Romeyn, the owner and president of Romeyn Designs, who serves as the managing partner of Windsong Properties, has a degree in history of architecture from Harvard University. He has built homes in a wide range of communities including Big Canoe, Brookhaven, Roswell and Country Club of the South, and has held top management positions at John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods, Colony Homes and the Orchards Group. Windsong Properties is currently building two active adult neighborhoods, The Cottages of Heron Bay in Minerva Properties Heron Bay development in Henry and Spalding Counties, and the Montclair neighborhood in Butler Properties Groups Ridgewalk master planned community in Cherokee County. This fall, the company will start a new active adult neighborhood at Blackberry Run at Seven Hills, a new Cousins development in Paulding County. | ||
