Bad Links? | Early camp registration in PTC gets good responseThe Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department held early-bird registration for the Camp McIntosh summer camp last Saturday and had a great response. What a great turnout; we are already half-full, said Art Sivertsen, coordinator of youth and teens with the department. We usually aren't half-full until late April, so this was a pleasant surprise. And because we didnt get the flyers out to the schools until late last week, we've decided to extend the early bird discount until Friday, April 1. Camp McIntosh is for children ages 6-10 and is at Huddleston Elementary Schools gymnasium. Normal camp hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Camp consists of six one-week sessions in the summer, and each week offers two trips and two swim days. If you sign up for multiple weeks by Friday, you can save money. Sign up for two weeks save $20, three weeks $40, four weeks $60, five weeks $80, six weeks $100. This year the camp is also offering two weeks of teen trip camp for ages 11-14. If you sign up for one week of teen camp you will save $40 and $80 for two weeks. The deadline for this discount is this Friday at 5 p.m. Early-bird registration forms are available at The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department Administration Building at 191 McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City. For more information on Camp McIntosh, call 770-631-2542 or e-mail campmcintosh@peachtree-city.org Also, new this year, the camp has partnered up with Primrose School for Pre and Post Camp. Parents can drop their child off as early as 6:30 a.m. at Primrose and they will drive your child to camp. If they cant pick up their child until the late afternoon, or early evening, Primrose will pick up your child from Camp McIntosh. The cost will be $20 a day for this service. To use this service, parents must register at Primrose School of Peachtree City, 400 Kedron Drive, 770 486-1404. |
