Flat Creek plans cross cultural training seminarFlat Creek Baptist Church will host a cross-cultural training seminar Friday and Saturday, April 22-23, presented by the International Missions Training Institute, an arm of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. The event is open to the public. The 12-hour seminar will help individuals recognize the influences that shape their world view and how that impacts their ministry. Participants will discover what triggers and reduces culture shock, the unique challenges of witnessing cross-culturally, and will explore the biblical basis of missions. To add an international flavor to the experience, participants will sit down to an international dinner as well as participate in a hunger meal. There will also be a special time of blessing in which prayer, reflection, commitment, and joys are shared. The seminar is designed to help provide answers to questions about volunteering overseas how one may relate to the people they will encounter overseas and which of their actions might open or close doors to witness. Registration fee is $15 per participant and includes a volunteer training manual and two meals. The deadline for registration is April 10 and seating is limited. Flat Creek Baptist Church is at 161 Flat Creek Trail, between Fayetteville and Peachtree City. To register or for further details, call the church office, 770-487-4890. |
