Bad Links? | Boswell to run for mayor of Peachtree City By JOHN MUNFORD Another Peachtree City resident is throwing his hat into the ring for the mayors race. Phil Boswell, 50, the president of Piedmont Mortgage Group, confirmed Wednesday that he will run for the office currently occupied by Steve Brown. Boswell graduated from Forest Park High School and has a bachelors degree from UGA in psychology. He currently teaches Sunday School at Braelinn Baptist Church. A native of Clayton County who has lived in the area his entire life, Boswell is also a distinguished past president of the Southlake Kiwanis Club. He spent four years on the Metropolitian Atlanta Private Industry Council, which provided job training and educational opportunities for employees affected by plant closings and the like. It was also his experience living in Clayton County that led him to move to Peachtree City, Boswell noted. I have lived in a community that really had no plans, and thats part of why I came here to Peachtree City, Boswell said. Boswell has been a city resident since 1997 and lives with his wife Andrea and their two children in the Avalon Park subdivision. Boswell joins previously announced candidates Dar Thompson, the owner of the Fayette World Gym locations and Harold Logsdon, a financial planner. |
