‘Wiz’ performance starts this Friday

Students at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School will present “The Wiz,” Friday and Saturday March 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. For ticket reservations, call the school, 770-461-2202. Tickets also may be purchased at the school, 861 Ga. Hwy. 279, Fairburn.

Living Proof Church plans Easter egg hunt

Living Proof Church, currently meeting at Tyrone Elementary School on Senoia Rd. in Tyrone, is sponsoring a community wide Easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 20, beginning at 2 p.m. The hunt will be held at Operation Mobilization, located on Lynwood Terrace, around the corner from Tyrone Elementary School.

National Heights choir to perform Sunday

National Heights Baptist Church will begin Palm Sunday activities with a fellowship breakfast at 9:15 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 9:45 and the Palm Sunday service at 10:55 a.m. At 6:30 p.m., a “Service of Shadows” is scheduled, featuring the Sanctuary Choir in a performance of Joseph Martin’s cantata, “A Song of Shadows.” National Heights is at Old Norton Road and Ga. Hwy. 54, west of Fayetteville.

St. Mary’s, Cokes Chapel set joint service

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church, next door neighbors on Lower Fayetteville Road in Sharpsburg, will celebrate a joint Palm Sunday service at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 20. The service will be held near the pond on St. Mary’s property, 4046 Lower Fayetteville Road. St. Mary’s will host a later Sunday service and Mass at 10 a.m. at East Coweta High School on Ga. Hwy. 154 in Sharpsburg.

Community Good Friday service planned

The annual community Good Friday service will be held at noon, Friday, March 25, at the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City on Willowbend Road. Pastors from six Peachtree City churches will speak on The Seven Last Words of Christ and congregational singing will be interspersed throughout the service.
