Fayetteville FBC to host tumbling team

The Asbury College tumbling team will appear at Fayetteville First Baptist Church Sunday, March 20, at 6 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.

In its 34th touring season, the team is traveling throughout the Southeast to provide a series of gymnastics demonstrations. An outreach team of the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics, this unique ministry uses a combination of gymnastics, sports acrobatics, cheerleading stunts and mini-tramp work to fulfill its mission of “witnessing for Christ through gymnastics.”

Since 1965 the team has had more than 250 members, including several second-generation members. The team uses gymnastics and tumbling to reach young people with personal faith stories and issues of character, abstinence and drug and alcohol awareness.
