Bad Links? | Local coaches name swimmers to all county teamsBy MICHAEL BOYLAN Starrs Mill and McIntosh had a number of swimmers make the all county team. McIntosh swimmers who made the boys first team were the 200 medley relay team of Thomas Lucak, Bryan Mitchell, Jeb Beard and Chris Lee, the 200 freestyle relay team of Vincent Tortora, Kyle Miller, Riki Otaki and Andrew Morton and the 400 freestyle relay team of Tortora, Lucak, Miller and Lee. Lee was also a first teamer in the 50 free, while Mitchell was named for the 100 breast and Tortora made it for the 500 free. Starrs Mill swimmers on the first team all county team were Scott Adams in the 100 back and Noah Copeland in the 200 free. The Starrs Mills 200 medley relay team of Adams, Copeland, Austin Ellyson and Kris Pretzer and 200 freestyle relay team of Pretzer, Robert Hawkins, Danny Clasen and Copeland were named to the second team all county team category. Pretzer also made the second team in the 50 free, while Matt Boyle made it in the 100 fly. McIntosh swimmers on the second team were Lucak in the 200 free, Beard in the 200 individual medley, Morton in the 100 free, Miller in the 500 free, Andy Rapson in the 100 back and the 400 freestyle relay team of Morton, Otaki, Beard and Matt Manley. Among the honorable mentions for the two schools were Hawkins in the 200 free, Manley in the 200 individual medley, Otaki in the 50 free, Starrs Mills Lorenson Cullen in the 100 back and the Panthers 400 freestyle relay team of Adams, Boyle, Clasen and Cullen. For the girls all county team, Starrs Mills had all three of their relay teams make the first team. They were the 200 medley realy team of Georgia Highsmith, Mackenzie Garrott, Bailey Garrott and Lauren Cartwright; the 200 freestyle relay team of Sarah Larson, Julie Glass and the Garrott sisters; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cartwright, Glass, Highsmith and Larson. Other first teamers for Starrs Mill were Glass in the 200 free, Cartwright in the 200 individual medley, Mackenzie Garrott in the 100 free, Heather Highsmoth in the 500 free and Georgia Highsmith in the 100 back. McIntoshs Nicole Roddenberry made the first team in the 50 free. McIntoshs 400 freestyle relay team of Roddenberry, Keaton Hannon, Rose Tortora and Bailey Abercrombie made the second team. other second teamers for McIntosh were Tortora in the 200 free and Hannon in the 200 individual medley. Starrs Mills second teamers were Larson in the 50 free, Bailey Garrott in the 100 fly, Megan Copeland in the 500 free and Kristin Schroder in the 100 back. McIntoshs 200 medley relay team of Roddenberry, Hannon, Kristin Bradley and Hannah Williams made the honroable mention team, as did the 200 freestyle relay team of Lindsey Lochridge, Tortora, Courtney Hahn and Abercrombie. Other honorable mentions for McIntosh were Williams in the 200 free, Abercrombie in the 200 individual medley, Brittany Utting in the 500 free, Caroline Clark in the 100 back and Lochridge in the 100 breast. Starrs Mills Kelsey Surrat was named to the honorable metion team in the 100 fly and the Lady Panthers 400 freestyle relay team of Bailey Garrott, Heather Highsmith, Nikki Roth and Schroder also made honorale mention. Through a generous Wal-Mart donation, each athlete will receive a 4" lettermans jacket patch and a certificate.
