Bad Links? | Chiefs and Panthers get more wins on FridayBy MICHAEL BOYLAN The weather at Tuesdays soccer season openers was a bit of a tease, as the warm weather was gone on Friday and local teams met in the cold. McIntosh hosted and swept Fayette County, while Starrs Mill hosted and swept Whitewater. The Lady Chiefs defeated Fayette County 15-0. Top scorers for McIntosh were Monica Hogan, who scored five goals, while Jessie Lenze added two goals and four assists and Katie Schultz added two goals and an assist. Tina Ross got her second shutout of the season. Starrs Mills girls got a 6-0 win over Whitewater. Tannah Castro had two goals and two assists for the Lady Panthers, while Emily Stevens added two goals and an assist and Laura McCalla added a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Katelyn Morgan had three saves in her second shutout of the season. McIntoshs boys defeated Fayette County 5-1, while Starrs Mill defeated Whitewater 7-3. Sandy Creeks girls lost to Chapel Hill 3-1, while the Patriot boys lost to Chapel Hill 5-2. |
