In AAAAA, the Starrs Mill girls placed 11th, while the Fayette County girls placed 28th. The Starrs Mill boys swim team placed 16th. State placers in the AAAAA meet were: Lauren Cartwright, Starrs Mill, first in the 200 individual medley (2:04.35) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:02.37); Noah Copeland, Starrs Mill, second in the 100 (46.54) and the 200 freestyle (1:39.99); Mackenzie Garrot, Starrs Mill, seventh in the 100 breast (1:09.32) and ninth in the 100 freestyle (54.49); and Katelyn Davis, Fayette County, 10th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.01). Starrs Mills 200 freestyle relay team of Mackenzie Garrot, Sarah Larson, Julie Glass and Cartwright, placed third (1:41.33) while the boys team of Copeland, Scott Adams, Robert Hawkins and Kris Pretzer, placed 11th (1:32.55). In the 400 freestyle relay, the girls team of Cartwright, Larson , Glass and Garrot placed seventh (3;43.05) while the boys team of Adams, Pretzer, Hawkins and Copeland placed 12th (3:28.75). In the Class A through AAAA meet, McIntoshs boys placed third while the girls placed 13th. Sandy Creeks boys placed 30th. State placers were: The McIntosh boys 200 medley relay team of Thomas Lucak, Bryan Mitchell, Vincent Tortora and Chris Lee placed third (1:39.90), while the girls 200 medley relay team of Nicole Roddenberry, Lindsey Lochridge, Keaton Hannon and Rose Tortora placed 10th (2:00.25). The McIntosh boys team of Kyle Miller, Ricki Otaki, Andrew Morton and Jeb Beard placed 12th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.30). The team of Tortora, Lee, Lucak and Miller placed third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:14.03) or the boys while the team of Roddenberry, Bailey Abercrombie, Rose Tortora and Hannon placed 10th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:54.81). Tortora placed second in the 500 freestyle (4:36.81) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:43.43) and Lucak placed 16th (1:50.72). Mitchell placed 15th in the 200 individual medley (2:08.81), while Hannon placed 16th for the girls (2:22.62). Lee placed fifth in the boys 50 freestyle (21.76) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (48.76) while Sandy Creeks Zach Payne placed fifth in the 100 butterfly (53.63) and Lucak place seventh (53.87). In the girls 100 butterfly, Roddenberry placed second 57.27. Whitewaters David Menchinger placed fifth in the 100 backstroke (54.97) and sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:56.13) while Miller placed 12th in the 100 freestyle for the Chiefs (49.51) and Mitchell placed 13th in the 100 breast (1:05.32). |
