Kruse named top builderMike Kruse of Mike Kruse Contractors Inc. is the 2004 Builder of the Year for the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia. Kruse began his building career in Missouri after graduating from St. Louis University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. After a move to Texas in 1968, he formed Mike Kruse Construction of Texas, where he built until he moved to Georgia in 1986 to work for John Wieland Homes. In 1991, he once again started his own company, Mike Kruse Contractors, building an average of 10-15 move-up homes per year, primarily in Fayette and Coweta Counties. His company also does commercial construction and remodeling. Kruse lives in Peachtree City with his wife Kim. His daughter Valerie lives in North Carolina and his son Steven lives in Colorado. Both are in the building industry. Kruse also received a Spike Award from the association for his success in recruiting new members during the month of December. The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Meriwether, Heard, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Butts and Jasper counties.
