Bad Links? | Tigers to become EaglesBy MICHAEL BOYLAN Fayette County football players RiChard Davis and Jonathan Loving signed letters of intent on Wednesday to attend and play for Georgia Southern University. This is a credit to the hard work of these two fine young men and their families, said head football coach Tommy Webb. Loving was a three year letterman offensive and defensive tackle for the Tigers. In 2004, Loving was a team captain, offensive player of the year and most improved offensive lineman. He had 23 pancake blocks during the season, was a student athlete of the week and was named to the second team, all region. Loving plans on studying business management and hopes to get playing time on the offensive line right away. Davis was a two way starter for the Tigers, spending time as a defensive back, a wide receiver and quarterback. He was a team captain in 2004 and was named to the first team all region team as a defensive back and honorable mention to the all region team as a running back. He was a three year letterman in both football and baseball and was recruited to play quarterback for the Eagles. He is planning on majoring in sports management. Davis went the extra mile for us, said Webb. I just cant say enough about him. Family members, friends and former coaches attended the signing to wish both players well in their future endeavors. |
