Edith Young Brown, 91, Fairburn, died Jan. 16, 2005. She was born July 30, 1913 in Jasper County, daughter of the late John Harlan and Cynthia Clyde Weaver Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Ray Brown. She was a member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Joseph Lanford Tate Joseph Lanford Tate, 67, Peachtree City, formerly of Gainesville, Fla., died Jan. 23, 2005. He was born Jan. 29, 1937 in Columbia, Ala. son of the late Rufus E. and Lossie Register Tate. He was formerly an electrical contractor both self-employed and as a superintendent for Bill Preston Electric in Gainesville. He was a founding organizer and board member of Gainesvilles non-joint electrical apprenticeship program that later became Master Trades Committee of the Greater Gainesville Area Association for technical training through Sante Fe Community College in Gainesville. He was a member of the Flat Creek Golf Club, Peachtree City, and the University of Florida Golf Course, He was previously a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and served on many committees. He was currently a member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church and was employed there a Facilities Manager. Reva Lee Shannon Reva Lee Shannon, 88, Riverdale, Fayette County, died Jan. 23, 2005. She was born April 29, 1916 in Oconee County, S. C. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, E. Harris Shannon. She was retired from Nabisco in 1979 after 31 years of service. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church, the Joy Club, and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Christian Travel Club, and enjoyed traveling with her family. Irene Blair Scarbrough Irene Blair Scarbrough, Tyrone, died Jan. 25, 2005. She was born in Fayette County, daughter of Homer Melvin and Georgia Alice Flowers Blair. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, A. J. Scarbrough. |
