ObituariesBetty Kleeman ClarkeBetty Kleeman Clarke, 77, Peachtree City, died Jan. 3, 2005. She was born Sept. 25, 1927 in St. Louis, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kleeman. Services were at Peachtree City United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Soulen officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include sons, Craig and Colleen Caulkins, Brian and Denise Caulkins, Glenn Caulkins; a daughter, Patty and Steve Wilson; and grandchildren, Lauren, Sean, Kelly, Tyler, Ansley, Carrie, Candace, Marissa, and Matthew. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. Gerald Byron BallardGerald Byron Jerry Ballard, 57, Gainesville, Ga., died Jan. 15, 2005. He was born Jan. 17, 1947 in Coweta County, Ga. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Stubbs Ballard. He began building homes in Fayette County in 1979, developing many commercial and residential buildings. He was given the Chet Wells Award from the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce in 1982 and it named him Business Person of the Year in 1986. He was named Builder of the Year and named president of the Midwest Georgia Builders Association in 1980. He was a long-standing member of the Rotary Club. He generously contributed to community programs and charities, a Louis XIV settee he donated to the Fayette County Historical Society now rests in the Hollingsworth House. Services were at the Jonesboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles Carter and the Rev. Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Wilson Ballard, Gainesville; father, Joseph and Lucile Ballard, Jonesboro; brother, Douglas C. Ballard, Duluth; and a sister, Beverly Roberts, Bethesda, Md. Joseph Donald HubbardJoseph Donald Hubbard, 54, Tyrone, died Jan. 18, 2005. He was born Nov. 29, 1950 in Talladega, Ala. Services were at Carl J. Mowell chapel with Vince Velluci officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a brother, Dale and Diane Hubbard, Luthersville; and a sister, Joan and Johnny Gilbert, Stockbridge. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. Morgan L. ChandlerMorgan L. Chandler, 58, Fayetteville, died Jan. 22, 2005. He was born April 17, 1946 in Gastonia, N. C. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Yeary officiating. Interment was at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest. Survivors include a son, Matthew and Dawn Chandler, Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Patrice Chandler and Dexter Thrash, Fayetteville, and Angela Chandler, Ames, Iowa; mother, Allie Sue Chandler, Demorest; a sister, Freida Yeary, Columbus; and two grandchildren. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge. Raymond J. SnyderRaymond J. Snyder, 87, Peachtree City, died Jan. 17, 2005. He was born Dec. 6, 1917 in Minneapolis, Minn. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Virginia Snyder, Peachtree City; a daughter, Laurel; grandchildren, Anthony and Leslie Ann; and a great-granddaughter. Metro Crematory, Peachtree City, was in charge.
