A new manager has been hired as manager of Peachtree Citys Tennis Center, according to a statement from the citys Tourism Association, which operates the venue.
David Gary most recently served as director of tennis operations at Wood Valley Racquet Club and Fitness Center and the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, Kan.
There, he managed the tennis center operations for a facility with 900 memberships. He has also served as tournament director for numerous USTA Tournaments, including sectional championship events.
In his new position here, Gary will be responsible for the administration and operational management of the facility and its programs.
David is an innovative and experienced leader in managing tennis center operations who will help us continue our aggressive growth path and bring our marketing and branding to the next level, said Murray Weed, chairman of the Peachtree City Tourism Association, which operates the tennis center. His background has proven that he will be a strong asset to the tennis center membership, the tournament event industry, our teaching professionals and the citizens of Peachtree City.
Gary has received several industry awards, including the USPTA National Industry Excellence Award, the USPTA Missouri Valley Facility of the Year USPTA Professional of the Year Award and the Outstanding Contributor to Player Development Award.
I am honored and proud to be chosen as the team leader for such an outstanding tennis facility, Gary said. I look forward to working together with the entire community as we focus on the positive attributes and direct our unified efforts on the facilitys future success.
Gary is the second candidate selected for the job. The associations original pick had to back out for personal reasons days after accepting the job in November.
