Agencies for seniors, domestic violence get PTC money

The Peachtree City Council has donated $7,500 each to the non-profit groups Fayette Senior Services Inc. and Promise Place Inc.

The donations were approved last week unanimously by council. It is an annual tradition for the donations, rationalized because both groups provide services for local citizens that the city can’t.

Fayette Senior Services provides programming, meals and other supports for local seniors. Promise Place, formerly known as the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, provides advocacy, housing and other assistance to victims of domestic violence.

Both agencies applied for the donations from council, including financial data with their applications.
