Get ready, Peachtree City. Tyrone looks like its getting ready to yupscale you.
Last week, the Tyrone Town Council gave unanimous approval to a new retail establishment called Chaps.
No, its not a Western wear outlet or a British pub, but rather a unique retail concept mainly geared towards men. The business will be located across the highway from the Publix shopping center on Ga. Highway 74.
Tyrone resident John Fitzgerald told the Town Council that Chaps will serve many needs for the residents.
Its primarily a restaurant, but there will also be a meeting space for business people, Fitzgerald said. In fact, when Fitzgerald was thinking of the concept, he had to meet with folks at Starbucks in Peachtree City.
Additionally, the space will feature an upscale barber shop for men.
Well also have a retail shop for men featuring gifts for some of the holidays, he said.
Fitzgerald was seeking an alcohol license for Chaps, which the Town Council unanimously granted.
This is the type of restaurant were looking for in Tyrone, said Councilman Paul Letourneau.
In other news, the Town Council

That was our opening night and it was an outside event. Since then, weve increased the fee for outside events, he said.
Marullo added that any event that takes place outside would now have to have all music stop by 9:30 p.m. and said he had not heard of any other complaints.
