Christ the King CEC schedules Alpha CourseThe Alpha Course, a non-denominational ten-week course covering the basics of the Christian faith, will be taught at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church beginning Sunday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m. Topics to be covered include: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How do I pray? How does God lead us? Who is the Holy Spirit? How can I resist evil? What about the church? Does God heal today? There is no cost for the course and an evening meal is provided each week for the Alpha participants by members of the Christ the King congregation. This will be the fourth Alpha course taught at Christ the King in less than a year. The course is under the direction of Dr. Judy and Fr. Paul Massey. In certain cases, childcare may be provided at no extra charge. The Alpha Course was first started in an Anglican church in England and now is taught in thousands of churches representing hundreds of different denominations throughout the world. Among the denominations which have used the course are Roman Catholic, Pentecostal, Episcopal, Methodist, Salvation Army, Baptist, Presbyterian, house churches and many others. The course is particularly aimed at those who are new to the Christian faith or those who are interested in exploring the Christian faith. Space is limited and individuals or couples who wish to participate must pre-enroll. For additional information or to pre-enroll in the course, interested persons should call the church office, 770-252-2428. Christ the King church is on Ga. Hwy. 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan. |
